1 Omfattning
Standarden är avsedd att användas vid bedömning av rostgrad på detaljer som provats eller använts under accelererade eller atmosfäriska betingelser.
2 Bedömning
Bedöm graden av rostbildning med hjälp av bilderna på sid 4-8 i denna standard.
 Bilderna är utvalda ur den "Europeiska rostgrads-skalan", publicerad av European Committee of Paint, Printing Ink and Artists´ Colours Manufacturers´ Associations, Bryssel

(CEPE).
Sambandet mellan ISO-skalan och Europeiska rost-skalan framgår av tabell 2.
Det ungefärliga sambandet mellan ISO-skalan och ASTM D 610-68 framgår av tabell 3.
Orientation
This standard agrees with SS 184203 and ISO 4628/3-1982 and ASTM 610.
This standard is identical to the previously issued standard STD 5715,102 which it replaces. This is the only difference from issue 1.
1 Scope
This standard is intended to be used when rating the degree of rust formed on parts that have been tested or used under accelerated or atmospheric conditions.
2 Rating
The degree of rust formation shall be rated by reference to the pictorial standards reproduced on pages 4-8.
 The pictorial standards are selected from the European rust scale published by the European Committee of Paint, Printing Ink and Artists´ Colours Manufacturers´ Associations,

Brussels (CEPE).
The correlation between the ISO and European rust scales is as shown in table 2.
The approximate correlation between the ISO rust scale and the rating system of ASTM D 610-68 is given in table 3.

The pictorial standards given are basically intended for rating the degree of rust on painted steel surfaces.
They may also be used for determining the degree of corrosion on painted non-ferrous metals if the form of degradation is comparable with that on the standards.
 If the average sizes of the rust spots on the test piece differ considerably from those shown on the standards, an indication of their size may be given by reference to the rating

scheme given in table 3 of ISO 4628/1.
Föreliggande bilder är huvudsakligen avsedda för att bedöma rostgraden på målade stålytor.
